Ben Kweller - Mean to Me
First thing I saw in my inbox this morning was a note from @fredwilson with a link to this new BK which is available as a free download in advance of the new record.
Turn it up.

Tiny Victories - Lost Weekend
Kind of obsessed this afternoon with the shimmering brilliance of this densely-packed smoke pipe of Brooklyn duo Greg Walters and Cason Kelly. Good from the first hit to the last.
Look for their upcoming Those of Us Still Alive EP, due out February 28th.
The Shins | Simple Song
Oh yes, can’t wait for this album to drop.

Sol - Need Your Love (feat. Ray Dalton)
I’m a huge fan of what Sol’s been putting out; the Seattle music scene is spectacular right now and a lot of the artists there are still on the verge of commercial success, so it’s an exciting time to be paying attention. Sol released this earlier this week for free download.

Trampled by Turtles - Victory (Live at KDHX St. Louis)
Fun fact: Trampled by Turtles is from Duluth, MN, which is also the hometown of slowcore vets Low. These bands don’t have a lot in common, but it’s easy to see how a place like Duluth could inspire them both. I’ve been there. It’s cold.
K’naan - Is Anybody Out There? (feat. Nelly Furtado)
One of my favorite MCs is back with an EP called More Beautiful Than Silence, released yesterday and immediately available to stream over at Hilly Dilly (who I owe my last two posts to). I’ve been a big fan of the dusty footed philosopher for a long time and you may not realize this, but I have a big voice crush on Nelly Furtado as well. The whole release is pretty solid, so go grab it!
raconte-moi une histoire sur le ciel (kanye/lupe/m83 mashup) - wait what

Hold On - Alabama Shakes
